Fonterra announces John Shaskey's resignation

Fonterra Co-operative Group today announced the resignation of Managing Director, Fonterra GlobalTrade, John Shaskey.

Mr Shaskey leaves Fonterra at the end of June. Fonterra Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Ferrier, said his wealth of knowledge and experience in global dairy markets would be missed.

"John has made a significant contribution to the industry and to Fonterra. His leadership in developing and implementing the operating model for our global ingredients business at the time Fonterra was established is a significant achievement. We thank him and wish him well for the future."

Mr Shaskey's 30 year career in the dairy industry, began with the New Zealand Dairy Board in 1977. He held a number of operational and sales roles in Latin America, the Middle East, Asia and New Zealand. As Managing Director Fonterra GlobalTrade his responsibilities spanned commodity sales, major customer management, supply chain, sales and operations planning and the development of a formulated foods business.

Fonterra will be reviewing internal and external options for his successor.
